December 20, 2012 – The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 831 donated a sleigh-full of new toys to St. Louise Outreach and Food Bank on Friday, December 14. Santa himself dropped by to oversee the special delivery and was quite impressed with the generosity of CUPE 831 members and with the amount and diversity of toys donated. On hand to deliver the toys were CUPE 831 executive members Fabio Gazzola and Andrew Burgess, Chief Steward Hayden Stewart, and St. Louise Outreach volunteer Enrique Rivera.
With over 600,000 members across Canada, CUPE represents workers in health care, education municipalities, libraries, universities, social services, public utilities, transportation, emergency services and airlines.
Founded in 1985, St. Louise Food Bank and Outreach is a registered not-for-profit organization currently assisting over 2400 families in need. They welcome donations of food, drinks, baby food, clothing, and cleaning products. No items are sold.
